Dog Kennel Flooring

If you have an outdoor kennel for your dog, there are several types of dog kennel flooring that you can use as flooring for the kennel. By using dog kennel flooring, you eliminate problems such as having your dog trying to dig under the fence, cleaning up the dog excrement and having your dog getting muddy when it rains.

Dog kennel flooring will provide comfort for your dog, while keeping the dirt off. The flooring is also much easier to clean than solid dirt, and dog kennel flooring will prevent your dog from escaping because he can’t dig through the flooring.

Some people use concrete for their dog kennel flooring. Concrete is a good flooring to use, but there are pros and cons to using this type of dog kennel flooring. Once the concrete is poured, it would be very difficult to move it. You would have to use something strong to burst the concrete into blocks, and then move these heavy blocks elsewhere. This is not a type of dog kennel flooring that can be moved and reused. You would have to re-pour concrete floor if you ever decide to move your kennel.

Although difficult to move, concrete dog kennel flooring is very easy to clean and does not hold odors as some flooring materials do.

Some people prefer to have wood dog kennel flooring, but there are also pros and cons to using wood as a solution. Wood can rot, and although durable, this type of flooring will not last as long as a concrete floor would. Wood also absorbs odors, so over time, the smell could become a bit nauseating. Wooden dog kennel flooring is easy to clean, and a good solution for most, if one does not mind cleaning the wood regularly with odor eliminating cleansers. Wooden dog kennel flooring is also easy to transport, it can be moved if you ever decide to move your kennel.

Another dog kennel flooring to choose from would be what are considered “Instant” solutions. These types of dog kennel flooring are made of plastics, rubber or other synthetic materials. They are relatively easy to clean, easy to install and move when needed and do not hold odors as wood does. These types of dog kennel flooring materials are not only the most affordable flooring choices, but also the easiest to install and maintain.
