Engraved Dog Tags

When I was about 10 years old, I lost my Dog, Wooby at the park. I never found him again although almost all of the people around us knew him. He wore an engraved dog tag on his neck, where my name and address could be found.

It really broke my heart. My Mom was very concerned about me because I came very late from school everyday, then, just to look for Wooby. She even promised to buy me a new dog, but I refused. I guess it took me about a year to finally concede to my Mom’s offer, where she brought me a young pup one day.

I guess things happen for a reason… always. Should I have not lost Wooby, I wouldn’t meet this wonderful dog beside me today, who once saved me from getting bullied by a couple of school kids. His name is Dobby. He has been with me for so long that I wouldn’t even dare count how old he is.
